03 PIPE BURSTING

Pipe bursting replaces your deteriorated fire main — or upsizes it for greater flow capacity — without open trenching. The host pipe is fractured outward as new pipe is simultaneously pulled into position. Temporary bypass keeps fire suppression active and NFPA-compliant from mobilization through completion. No trench. No downtime. No compromise on coverage.

NFPA 24 minimum pressure requirements

Corroded, tuberculated pipe can’t reliably deliver the 20 psi residual required at a hydrant — and a flow test alone won’t tell you the pipe is failing internally.

NFPA 25 internal assessment mandate

Metallic sprinkler piping must be assessed internally every 5 years. Most industrial underground fire loops have never been assessed since installation — a compliance gap most don’t know they have.

Looped systems require full loop integrity

A single point of failure defeats the redundancy a looped design is built to provide. Corrosion, joint separation, or a partial collapse compromises the entire loop’s pressure delivery.
